Overview

We learn, work, and live on the traditional lands of the Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) and Lekwungen (Songhees) ancestors and families who have lived here for thousands of years. This land has been part of the fabric of the life of Indigenous communities long before Hatley Castle was built, and it will belong to the future. It is with gratitude that we now learn and work here, where the past, present, and future of Indigenous and non-Indigenous students, faculty, and staff come together.

Located in one of Canada’s most beautiful National Historic Sites, Royal Roads University has a long history of excellence. In 2015, we celebrated 75 years of leadership and learning - 55 years as a military college and 20 years as a public applied for research university.

Admission Requirements

The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to the Royal Roads University

International students are considered on a case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
Should provide the certificate issued by the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) that compares educational credentials from other countries to educational standards in Canada.
Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.

Please note:- If you are not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, you must obtain a valid study permit before you come to Canada.

Accomodation

On-Campus Housing

Royal Roads University offers convenient on-campus housing for students while on short-term residency. Choose from a variety of private single and double rooms or dormitory-style suites with shared washrooms. Located in the heart of the Colwood campus, accommodations are located in the Millward and Nixon buildings. Residence lounges include fridges, microwaves, coffee makers, toasters, kettles and cutlery. The nearby Habitat Café offers a variety of meals for purchase seven days a week.

Off-Campus Housing

Students have numerous options for finding accommodation off-campus in the nearby area. Students can have access to studio apartments, paying guest facilities, sharing apartment complexes, and many more.

Homestay

Homestays are an integral system of housing for students. Students have the opportunity to avail of homestay facilities as per their discretion and choices. Homestay hosts include single people, young couples with children and pets, and older couples. All homestay accommodations have been inspected, and all adults in the home have completed a required criminal reference check.
