When you study economics, you’re examining decision-making processes at the personal and political level and contributing to a way of thinking that will influence countless social issues, including: poverty, climate change, health care, international development, globalization, immigration, financial institutions, and government regulations. Economics will prepare you for a career of investigating and analyzing economic events, forecasting trends, and creating efficient policies while innovating current systems.
There is less emphasis in Economic Studies on economic theory, and statistics, and more on policy and applications.
