What You’ll Learn
The Computer Science, B.S. with a concentration in Network Security allows you to focus on network infrastructure and network security aspects, preparing you to handle IT security infrastructure challenges for businesses around the world.
You’ll study a variety of topics such as defense-in-depth, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography, and virtual private networks. You’ll also complete a substantial project that demonstrates the full extent of your technical skills and knowledge, in addition to its economic, societal, and ethical impact.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on funded research projects for the Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, among others alongside faculty at New York Tech’s Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center (ETIC). Many students publish their work in recognized journals as part of the Undergraduate Research & Entrepreneurial Program (UREP).

Career Options
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
