Careers / Further study

• As a qualified rehabilitator, you can put yourself forward for jobs with sports injury clinics, health clubs, fitness centres, rehabilitation units and professional sports clubs.
• Recent graduates are working as graduate sport rehabilitators with clubs such as Gloucester Rugby, Oxford United FC and Coventry City FC.
• You could also work in the public sector, where there is an increasing demand for graduates in rehabilitation roles and for GP referral schemes.  Or, you could set up your own clinical practice serving your local sporting community or working in strength and conditioning.

Professional accreditation

• This course is accredited by the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) which is on the accredited register regulated by the Professional Standards Authority.
• When you graduate, you'll automatically be eligible for BASRaT membership.
• After passing the first year, you can register with BASRaT to start practising as a sports massage therapist.

Placements

• Students who go on work experience tend to graduate with better degrees. Experience also hones your skills, industry knowledge and professional network, making you a sought after graduate.
• You'll spend at least 400 hours on placements as part of your degree, applying your knowledge and building your skills in real-world environments. You'll get to think about what area of sport rehabilitation you want to get into, and be in a strong position for future employment.
• Placements build from 50 hours in your first year to 200 hours in your final year.
• We have close links with sports injury clinics, sports clubs, fitness centres and rehabilitation units.
• You'll get to work with elite sports teams including Bath Rugby, Bristol City FC, Bristol Rovers and Gloucestershire Cricket.
• Placements are also available with UWE sports teams and athletes through our Centre for Sport.

Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme is for students who have completed their Ph.D. and is valid for 12 months for them to work, look for work or set up a business. 
Tier 5 Youth Mobility is for individuals of certain countries like Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand aged between 18 -30 who wish to move to the UK. 
Tier 5 GAE is for individuals who want to come to the UK for work experience, training, research or a fellowship.
