Our master's programme is designed to give Computer Science graduates the specialist, up-to-date skills and knowledge sought after by employers, whether in business, industry, government or research.

The MSc Advanced Computer Science course will equip students with in-depth knowledge and practical skills in at least two specialist topics of computer science to advanced depth.

Successful graduates may pursue a career in areas such as programming, artificial intelligence and robotics, computer networks, cyber security, data science, or software engineering, pending on the knowledge and skill set gained through the optional modules the graduates choose and complete.

Scholarships for international students
We have invested hundreds of thousands of pounds in scholarships for high achieving and enterprising students from around the world. For September applicants, we have a wide range of scholarships available.

We look for enterprising and aspirational students who want to excel in an international university. If this sounds like you, then we offer several non-repayable scholarships to international students.

Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship
Available to all applicants who pay overseas fees to the University. The University will consider your application for scholarships looking at your interest in your chosen course, motivation for studying as well as your future career aspirations after graduation.
No additional scholarship application required to be considered.
Amount: £1,000 & £2,000 for September intake.

20% Study Abroad Discount
Students who have completed an exchange programme at the University of Hertfordshire may be entitled to a 20% Tuition Fee discount on selected postgraduate taught programmes.

Sports Scholarships
If so, you could be eligible for a University of Hertfordshire Sports Scholarship.
Sports Scholarships combine a range of support and services for exceptionally talented athletes to successfully train, compete and achieve both sporting and academic aspirations. If you wish to be considered for a sports scholarship please fill in a form.  All applications are assessed on an individual basis and awards may differ between athletes.

Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa for the graduates with a genuine and credible business idea. 
Tier 2 (General) is the leading immigration visa to work in the UK.
Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme is for students who have completed their Ph.D. and is valid for 12 months for them to work, look for work or set up a business. 
Tier 5 Youth Mobility is for individuals of certain countries like Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand aged between 18 -30 who wish to move to the UK. 
Tier 5 GAE is for individuals who want to come to the UK for work experience, training, research or a fellowship. 
UK Ancestry is for individuals who are a citizen of a commonwealth and plan to work in the UK and have a grandparent who was born in the UK.
